Chambertin Grand Cru 2013
A ripe but distinctly cool and reticent nose displays grudging notes of cassis, black cherry, earth and a broad range of spices that is also trimmed in enough wood to notice. The very dense and serious big-bodied flavors exhibit an intense minerality on the overtly powerful and hugely long finish. Note well that this is a very structured, old school and completely backward Chambertin that will need close to two decades to arrive at its full majority. Patience absolutely required.
