Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits Rouge 2013

There is a touch of wood framing the more deeply pitched nose of spicy red and dark currant aromas that are trimmed in a bit of earth character. The delicious middle weight flavors display a lovely minerality as well as slightly better phenolic maturity to the supporting tannins, all wrapped in a more persistent finish though here too there is a trace of dryness that detracts mildly from the balance.
