Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru 2010
Relatively strong reduction dominates the nose at present and prevents a thorough assessment. By contrast, there is good freshness and ample verve to the exceptionally rich, powerful and borderline massive flavors that enjoy support in the form of a very concentrated mid-palate and a notably firm tannic spine that imparts a chewy texture to the hugely long, mouth coating and tannic finish. This is breathtakingly good though like any self-respecting Clos du Roi, to note that it will need plenty of bottle age is largely superfluous.
