Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Damodes 2013

A background application of wood sets off cool but ripe aromas of black cherry liqueur, raspberry and plenty of freshly turned earth character. There is a velvety mouth feel to the extract rich middle weight flavors that possess a sleek muscularity before terminating in a balanced, long, firm and solidly complex finale. Good stuff here and while firm, it's not really austere and thus should be approachable young.
